The CEO of Huray as well as professor of Human ICT Convergence department, Park, Jaebeom delivered a lecture on 'Google Glass'. He explained the basic structure and shape of Google Glass in detail and he provided us with the opportunity to experience Google Glass.
By experiencing the interface of Google Glass, I could think of the possibility as well as the issues of Google Glass. Google Glass had a lot of possibility in video recording photographing, and voice support since it enables people to operate the machine free of both hands. On the other hands, the endemic problems of Google Glass, the battery capacity, heating problems were the fundamental issues that should certainly be resolved. Despite of the shortcomings, the reason Google Glass is attracting public attention as the next generation smart device, is because it helps people operate the device while doing other activities at the same time without being disconnected from the external environment. Therefore, following researches will be meaningful when they cover how to use Google Glass and how to resolve current problems.
In terms of hardware in the future, display on the glass lens itself is being developed and various types of UI/UX are on development in terms of software as well. Professor Park explained about these future development directions with many examples and cases so that we can easily presume those directions. Until now, they are only focusing on the usage in healthcare industry but it will be expanded to various and broader range of fields in the near future.
